O P Jindal Group awards 100 meritorious IIT, IIM, NIT students with OPJEM Scholarship

The O P Jindal Group recently awarded 100 students from India’s top engineering and management institutes with the OP Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarship (OPJEMS). The students received a cash award of INR 1,50,000 and INR 80,000 each, respectively at the felicitation ceremony.

The scholarship has been established with the aim to promote academic and leadership excellence and is awarded to meritorious students who emulate the vision and values of O P Jindal, Founder of the OP Jindal Group.

Students from 43 esteemed institutions including Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), Xavier School of Management (XLRI), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Management Development Institute (MDI), Jindal Global Business School were among the recipients of the scholarship. The evaluation parameters covered business proposal presentations, online tests and interviews conducted by industry experts and our leadership team. Those shortlisted for the recognition also received goodies for ‘special participation'.

Applauding the students, Managing Director, Jindal Stainless, Abhyuday Jindal, said, “The OPJEM Scholarship pays homage to the legacy of our visionary founder, Shri O P Jindal, who believed in nurturing talent and empowering young minds. We take pride in supporting the aspirations of these bright and talented students. The scholarship is a recognition of their achievements and a commitment to providing them with the necessary resources to realise their dreams and contribute to the nation's growth.”

In the last 16 years, over 1,500 students have been awarded the coveted scholarship. This year, the scholarship witnessed the participation of as many as 1,345 students. Under the engineering category, top three performers in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Metallurgical streams each year become eligible for participation. In the case of management courses, the first ten toppers from each year qualify for nominations. First year students under both categories are also eligible based on their entrance exam rankings.
