QS WUR 2024: IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi among top 200 in World
Among the top in the world, it is once again universities from the United Kingdom and the United States of America (USA) grabbing the top 10 ranks.
The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and IIT Delhi have secured their position among the top 200 universities globally with IIT Bombay being ranked as the best university in India in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2024.
IIT Bombay jumped from 177th rank last year to 149th rank this year with an overall score of 51.7 out of 100. IIT Delhi is another institution from India ranked among the top 200 with a rank of 197 and a score of 46.1.
Among the top in the world, it is once again universities from the United Kingdom and the United States of America (USA) grabbing the top 10 ranks. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is ranked the best in the world, it is followed by the University of Cambridge, and at third position is the University of Oxford.

Coming back to Indian universities, for the first time ever since its participation that IIT Bombay has been ranked within the top 150 in QS Rankings. This year as many as eleven Indian universities have secured a place among the top 500 globally of which eight are IITs.
The Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru is the third-best university in India as it has been ranked 225.

The 20th edition of the QS World University Rankings features 1,500 institutions across 104 locations, this year QS has included three more parameters to rank institutions, which are Sustainability, which has become a touchpoint for global institutions as they come to realise their impact on the world. The other two are Employment Outcomes, the International research network.
