What is ARWU?

The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) is published annually to assess and rank Universities based on academic and research performance indicators, including alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes, Field Medals, Highly Cited Researchers, papers published in Nature and Science, papers indexed in major citation indices, and the per capita academic performance of an institution. Both quality and quantity of research outcomes are considered for the world rankings.

About VITEEE

VITEEE is conducted annually as an entrance examination and admission process to select candidates for admission into the BTech courses offered by the participating campuses. The entrance exam consists of multiple-choice questions from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Aptitude and English prepared to assess the candidateโ€™s knowledge and aptitude.

Q: ย  When should I start with VITEEE preparation to secure good scores?

A:

Hello aspirant!

You must start with your VITEEE preparation as early as possible. Since the syllabus of VIT overlaps with 12th standard qualifying examination, you can simultaneously prepare for your board exams and VITEEE. By starting your preparation early, you will be able to complete the entire syllabus and have enough time to revise and solve mock tests and last year sample papers. Having enough time to revise before the examination is essential since it will allow you to be well-versed with what you had earlier studied.

Best of luck for the exam!

Q: ย  Which branch is good to take at VIT Vellore?

A:
VIT Vellore is the home to various B.Tech courses. Among the various courses, Computer Science and Engineering (Specialisation in Bioinformatics) can be considered the best branch in VIT Vellore. It has the lowest closing rank (around 7,500). However, the students will have to keep their interest in consideration while choosing their branch for future studies. VIT Vellore is one of the most coveted private engineering institute and there are many courses for the students to choose from.

Q: ย  What will be my rank if I score 50 in VITEEE?

A:

As per the previous year cutoff history, the candidates will be likely to secure a tentative rank of around 50,000 with 50 marks in VITEEE. However, the rank is tentative and can change since many factors are considered by the authorities while preparing the VITEEE cutoff. The VIT rank will be announced through the VITEEE result. Candidates can check their tentative rank by using the VITEEE college predictor.

Q: ย  What should be my preparation strategy to qualify VITEEE?

A:
Before starting the VITEEE preparation, the students should prepare a strong strategy that will allow them to be confident and ace the examination. Firstly, the students should be familiar with the official VIT exam pattern and syllabus. This will allow the students to understand how the examination will be held and which topics have to be prepared. Students are encouraged to prepare a timetable so that they will be able to equally divide their time between subjects and topics and finish the syllabus before the examination. Mock tests and sample papers are important factors in the preparation process. Students should attempt mock tests and solve sample papers to know their preparation progress. Revision should be done regularly so that the students do not forget what they have earlier studied.

Q: ย  How is the VITEEE merit list prepared?

A:

The authorities will prepare the VITEEE merit list by checking the candidate's performance in the entrance exam. Through the total marks secured in the examination, the authorities will create the merit list to allot ranks during the admission process. Since the admissions will be done based on rank, it is very essential for the authorities to correctly rank the candidates as per their performance in the examination. The obtained ranks in the entrance examination will be released through the VIT result.
