FAIMA welcomes NBE's decision to extend NEET PG 2022 internship deadline to July 31

FAIMA (Federation of All India Medical Association) has welcomed the National Board of Examinations (NBE) decision to extend the NEET PG 2022 internship deadline to July 31.

Earlier, the deadline to complete the mandatory internship for NEET PG 2022 was May 31. The candidates had knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court for an extension of the date and the court had asked them to make a representation before the Centre for the extension of the deadline. The latest is the National Board of Examinations (NBE) has extended the cutoff date for internship completion to July 31 and FAIMA (Federation of All India Medical Association) has welcomed this decision.

This will help thousands of Interns in achieving their dream of getting PG this year! As they were left Ineligible for appearing for Exam Due to Covid! @ANI @PTI_News @NMC_IND"

NEET PG 2022 internship cutoff date 

NBE's official notification says, "The cutoff date for completion of an internship for the purpose of eligibility for NEET PG 2022 has been extended to July 31. The NEET PG 2022 online application form is being updated accordingly and the changes in the application form will be affected by 18.02.2022 (3 PM onwards)."

"The application form for NEET PG 2022 can only be submitted online at nbe.edu.in. The online application window for submission of applications for NEET PG 2022 shall continue till 25.03.2022 (till 11:55 pm) as already notified vide NBEMS notice dated 04.02.2022," the notification added.

What Supreme Court said about NEET PG 2022 internship deadline extension?

The Supreme Court bench had said, “This May 31 deadline can be extended by a month or two. Suppose, even if we extend the May 31, deadline by a month or two, there may be a group of students who still miss out on the one-year deadline. It is more of a policy decision, let the government consider your representation”, as reported by NDTV.

NEET PG 2022 Latest Updates

Earlier NEET PG 2022 was scheduled to be held on March 12 but now after candidates demand the date is postponed by six to eight weeks and the examination will now be conducted on May 21. 

NEET PG 2022 candidates would be able to edit the application form between March 29 and April 7, 2022. The admit card will be out from May 16 and the result is scheduled to be announced on June 20.
