Govt in talks with Hungary to admit Ukraine returned medical students
Union Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar has said that the government is in talks with other countries around Ukraine for admission of Ukraine returned medical students.
While Supreme Court has given two months time to the National Medical Commission (NMC) to frame a scheme to accommodate Ukraine returned medical students and students pursuing MBBS from China, Union Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar has said that the government is concerned about the education of the students who fled war-torn Ukraine following the Russian invasion.
“We are talking to other nations around Ukraine in order to work out a solution so that Indian students can continue their medical courses in the universities there… We have spoken to Hungary and they are willing to make arrangements to admit as many Indian students whose academics have been interrupted due to the Ukraine conflict. We are taking this issue seriously to help our children as much as we can,” Jaishankar said, as reported by Indian Express.

These orphan kids will also get INR 4,000 per month and an equal amount per month from the Chief Minister’s Children fund.
