BHU Appoints Coordinators to Help New Faculty Members at Premises

Banaras Hindu University coordinators will help new faculty members to get familiarised with the university and its functioning along with helping new members explore growth opportunities within and outside the premises. 

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has planned to appoint coordinators for an effective and smooth recruitment process for new faculty members. The coordinators will help newly recruited faculty members to get familiarised with the university and its functioning. This further will provide the faculty with an option to have growth opportunities within and outside the university. The coordinators will play a key role in the acclimatization of new faculty members. 

In order to achieve a smooth recruitment process for the position of Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, and Professors, the university has taken a substantial action by designating two coordinators under the Faculty Recruitment and Assistance Program. The university has appointed these coordinators to ensure a smooth integration of faculties into the academic community. 

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain underlined that the recruitment of talented staff must be complemented by a robust induction process. He said, “New people come with fresh perspectives. We must leverage these new ideas and skills. A structured integration and familiarization process helps new members offer innovative ways to achieve shared goals for growth and contribute creatively and more constructively.”

The decision to appoint coordinators has been taken by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Jain in order to develop a culture that empowers BHU to strive as a team to achieve its set goals. Prof. Sandip Kumar from the Department of Pathology, Institute of Medical Sciences, will help as the Coordinator for Medical Sciences, while, Prof. Ajay Kumar from the Department of Physics, Institute of Science, has been appointed coordinator for the rest of the university.  They will facilitate orientation programs, deliver guidance on educational and research opportunities including office space, laboratory facilities, and IT support.
