The Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) and BJP youth wing, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad have jointly submitted a memorandum to the University of Delhi officials demanding the reopening of college and university campuses.

All India Students Association (AISA) has also been demanding for reopening of the university for physical classes. Some of the Delhi University students have also started making social posts demanding reopening of the offline classes.

DUSU office-bearers have also demanded for increasing number of undergraduate seats in colleges by 10 percent.

The DUSU met the Registrar and the members of the Executive Council, the highest decision-making committee of the University, for reopening campus and other issues. The Delhi Government has given its go-ahead for the reopening of educational institutions from September 1, which include schools and colleges in the national capital.

The students union demanded an increase in the number of seats as this year Class 12 results have been high for various state boards and CBSE and ICSE.

The DU colleges are already exploring the option of increasing the number of seats and also introducing some new courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The UG courses admission process is going on at the university and the application process closed yesterday with over 4.38 lakh students applying for various UG courses offered by the DU.

The office-bearers of the ABVP and the DUSU also registered their protest by handing over rose flowers to the members of the Executive Council before the Executive Council meeting was convened in a new way to protest for the cause.
