IGNOU offers PG diploma in environmental studies for July 2023 session

IGNOU PG Diploma in Environmental Studies: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a postgraduate (PG) diploma programme in environmental studies for the July 2023 academic session. Interested students must note that the details regarding IGNOU PG Diploma in Environmental Studies programme, application form is available on the IGNOU admission official website, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.

Students of MA Environmental Studies will be granted lateral entry into the programme, according to IGNOU. The institute "aims to generate awareness on a wide variety of environmental concerns".

“In order to address the environmental challenges induced by anthropogenic activities there is a need for developing a knowledgeable workforce in the areas such as climate change, pollution, waste management, sanitation, conservation of biological diversity, management of biological resources, forest and wildlife conservation, and sustainable development,” the statement added.

It further said that the programme would give valuable insights to the students with the necessary means and capacities to engage in environment assessment, propose sustainable solutions and contribute towards policies for environmental planning and sustainable development.

Recently, the IGNOU introduced new MSc programmes in physics (MSCPH), applied statistics (MSCAST), Geography (MSCGG), and Geo-informatics (MSCGI).

Meanwhile, IGNOU re-registration deadline is also extended for the July 2023 session until July 15. Candidates can re-register for the online, and online and distance learning (ODL) programmes on the official website ignou.ac.in. The varsity commenced the re-registration process on May 8. Initially the last date to apply was June 15. The interested and eligible candidates have to login into the student portal by entering their username, password and captcha code for re-registration.
