As Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) prepares for the start of the new semester, the administration has issued an appeal to all stakeholders, including students, faculty, and staff, to maintain discipline and peace on campus. The appeal comes in the wake of various activities being organized by student bodies.
The university administration has highlighted a directive from the High Court, which prohibits any demonstrations, dharnas, or mass gatherings within a 100-metre radius of the administrative block of the university.
"Your cooperation in upholding a peaceful and disciplined campus is crucial," stated the notice issued by the Registrar. The notice further requested stakeholders to inform the Security Branch immediately if any unauthorized activities are observed.
Reiterating its commitment to zero tolerance towards violence or indiscipline, the administration urged all members of the university community to refrain from engaging in such activities. The notice emphasized that cooperation from all stakeholders is highly solicited to ensure a harmonious academic environment.
It states that the appeal, issued with the approval of the Competent Authority, underscores the administration's dedication to maintaining order and fostering a conducive atmosphere for academic pursuits. “For further information or to report unauthorized activities, stakeholders are advised to contact the Security Branch promptly,” JNU Notice reads.
