JMI Entrance Exam 2022 likely to be postponed to avoid clash with CBSE 12th exam

The JMI entrance test is conducted by Jamia Millia Islamia to shortlist candidates for admission in various UG, PG, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, MPhil, PhD and certificate courses.

The Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is mulling postponing the entrance exams for admission to its undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses until the second week of June as the dates are clashing with the CBSE Class 12 board exams. The Term 2 examinations for Class 12 board exams are to be concluded on June 13

It must be noted that Jamia Millia Islamia is conducting the entrance test only for those courses that are not covered under the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). CUET 2022 application submission process is currently underway and will end on May 22. JMI Entrance Exam 2022 application process deadline has also been extended now, from May 12 to May 25, 2022. 

JMI Entrance Exam 2022 is scheduled to begin on June 2. However, now it is expected to begin on June 11. The JMI entrance test is conducted by Jamia Millia Islamia to shortlist candidates for admission in various UG, PG, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, MPhil, PhD and certificate courses such as Engineering, Architecture & Planning, Hospitality & Travel, Animation, Mass Communication, Humanities & Social Sciences, Commerce as well as Teaching & Education.

The JMI had earlier announced that admission to ten courses will be through the CUET. These courses are BA (Hons) Hindi, BA (Hons) Sanskrit, BA (Hons) French and Francophone Studies, BA (Hons) Spanish and Latin American Studies, BA (Hons) Economics, BA (Hons) History, BSc in Biotechnology and BVoc (Solar Energy), BSc (Hons) Physics and BA (Hons) Turkish Language and Literature.

It must be noted that the JMI result 2022 of the entrance exam will be announced separately for different programmes. Registrar Nazim Hussain Jafri said that the entrance exams will now be from June 11. The revised schedule is likely to be issued soon.

"We have decided to extend the dates of entrance exams as 12th class exams are underway and they were overlapping with entrance exams. The last date for submission of applications will also be extended form May 12 to May 25," Jafri said, as reported by NDTV.
