PM Modi on Budget 2022 provisions

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that National Digital University is a unique and unprecedented step of its kind in the education system of India. “I see the power in digital university that this university can completely eliminate the problem of seats in our country,” Modi said.

Narendra Modi while addressing a webinar on this year’s Budget provisions for education said that the National Digital University is a unique step towards the transformation of the education sector, right now the GER is low because of the limited number of seats. He said that when there will be unlimited seats for various courses through the digital university everyone will be able to access higher education.

I appeal to UGC, AICTE and other stakeholders to make sure digital universities start functioning as soon as possible and they should have the best quality standard at the international level.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi talking about this year’s Budget provisions for education and how it will give a boost to the education sector said that today's young generation is the future leader of the country, they are the Nation Builders of the future. “That's why empowering today's young generation means empowering India's future,” PM said.

Budget 2022: Five key areas

He said that In the Budget of 2022, a lot of emphasis has been laid on five things related to the education sector. First - Universalization of Quality Education: Important decisions have been taken to expand our education system, improve its quality and increase the capacity of the education sector,” said PM.

“Second is Skill Development: Digital skilling ecosystem should be created in the country, according to the demand of the industry, skill development should be done, industry linkage should be better, attention has been given to it. The third important aspect is urban planning and design. The ancient experience and knowledge of India in this, it is necessary to integrate it in our education today,” PM Modi said.

He added that the fourth important aspect is- Internationalization: World-class foreign universities should come to India, which are our industrial areas, such as GIFT City, institutes associated with FinTech should come there, it has also been encouraged. The fifth important aspect is - AVGC - ie Animation Visual Effects Gaming Comic, all of them have immense employment opportunities, there is a huge global market.

Modi said that be it e-Vidya, One Class One Channel, Digital Labs, Digital University, such educational infrastructure is going to help the youth a lot. This is an attempt to give better solution of education to all, be it villages, poor, dalit, backward, tribal, in the socio-economic setup of India.
