IIT-Kanpur 55th convocation: 1,360 students to receive degrees today

In addition to the degrees, the institute will also award various prizes to students. 51 categories of prizes and medals will also be given. Meanwhile, the technology institute has planned that a total of 21 students will be awarded the “Outstanding PhD Thesis Award”.

IIT Kanpur 55^th Convocation: The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, (IITK) is all set to host its 55th convocation on Wednesday, i.e. June 29. The occasion will be graced with the presence of the renowned cardiac surgeon Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, founder and chairperson, Narayana Health, Bengaluru. Shetty will be the chief guest on IIT Kanpur’s 55^th Convocation.

1,360 students to receive degrees

Dr Radhakrishnan K Koppillil, chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Kanpur, will preside over the convocation function. This year, the institute will confer a total of 1,360 students will get their degrees. The graduating students will be conferred the degrees by the chairperson, senate, of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.

51 category of Prizes

The IIT Kanpur administration has also given a dress code for this year’s convocation.

IIT Kanpur 55^th Convocation Dress Code

The institute has proposed a specific formal dress code for students for the convocation ceremony. According to the information released by the institute, for male students, the dress code for the convocation is Nehru-style cream-color kurta and white pajamas are proposed. While for female students, Nehru-style cream-color kurta and white churidars or leggings are proposed along with formal footwear for the convocation ceremony of IIT Kanpur.
