The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has announced that it has collaborated with the Uttarakhand Police for SMART policing by helping the police force conduct its second edition of Uttarakhand Police Hackathon, Devbhoomi Cyber Hackathon 2.0. The institute along with the Uttarakhand police has developed a website for the hackathon. All the candidates who are interested can visit the official website; i.e. iitr.ac.in/dch/ to participate in the event.
As per the statement by IIT Roorkee, "the launch of the website of the Devbhoomi Cyber Hackathon was held at the police headquarters in Dehradun. IIT Roorkee is the knowledge partner and an organizing partner of the event. The Devbhoomi Cyber Hackathon 2.0 is being conducted by the Uttarakhand Police in three stages. The first stage, prelims include the launch of the website and registration, the second stage is called mains and the third stage includes a prize distribution ceremony."
While speaking about the same, Ashok Kumar, director-general of police, the first edition of the Devbhoomi Cyber Hackathon which was conducted last year saw participation from about 332 teams from across India. This year, the programme is being conducted with IIT Roorkee as a knowledge partner and Tech Mahindra as an industrial partner, he said.
"In the last 1-2 years Uttarakhand Cyber Police has done commendable work and now it is committed to find innovative technological solutions which will act as benchmark and shape smart policing. This year we will have the participation of industry experts along with the students. I extend my best wishes to all the participants,” said Kumar.
