IMA writes to Health Minister to reschedule NEET PG 2022

While Supreme Court is all set to hear the plea seeking NEET PG 2022 postponement on May 13, 2022, Indian Medical Association (IMA) has written to Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and requested him to postpone the exam.

IMA has highlighted the same points which are being raised by the NEET PG 2022 aspirants that due to unprecedented delay in NEET PG 2021 counselling, the AIQ counselling has ended on May 7, 2022, and many states counselling is still going on and it is expected to be completed in the middle of May 2022. Hence, the gap between NEET PG 2021 counselling and NEET PG 2022 is too short for aspirants to prepare.

The letter also cited that many interns were busy serving their Covid duties during the pandemic and as a result, their internship got delayed, now they are ineligible to appear in NEET PG 2022 if the exam occurs in May 21, 2022.

The situation calls for a deferral of exam date: IMA

The letter reads, "The scenarios necessitate a deferral of the NEET PG 2022 examinations as it concerns career paths of lakhs of medical graduates. Since the NEET PG 2022 exam date is May 21, 2022, we request your timely intervention and urgent consideration of postponement of the NEET PG 2022 for a reasonable period of time, so that, the current NEET PG 2021 aspirants have adequate time to prepare and appear for the upcoming NEET PG 2022 exam and the eligibility of all interns are ensured."
