Doctors are planning to file an urgent petition in the top court of India to urge an Open Round Counselling for INICET 2022 to avoid vacant seats this year.

The resident doctors are planning to file an urgent petition in Supreme Court for an Open Round Counselling for INICET 2022 to avoid vacant seats. 

Dr Datta, Junior Resident of AIIMS Delhi and former FAIMA member, has tweeted, "We are filing an Urgent Petition in Supreme Court to prevent an impending healthcare catastrophe! Please support! HUGE NUMBER OF SEATS IN AIIMS Delhi, JIPMER and many other INIs will be left vacant this year if we don't conduct Open Round Counselling for INICET 2022!"

"SHOCKING! Vacancies after 2nd Round of INICET Counselling (As per information from various residents of AIIMS Delhi): VACANT SEATS:7/11 Community Medicine, 1/4 Paediatrics, 3/7 Ophthal, 5/6 Pathology, 1/? Surgery, 3/3 Pharmacology, 5/6 Physio, 1/? Infectious Disease (MD)," reads another tweet.

"Staggering Number of Seats remain vacant in these Top Residencies of the country! The entire healthcare system rests upon the backbone formed by residents! Vacancies - AIIMS Ophthal: 3/7, AIIMS Path: 6/7, AIIMS Peds: 1, JIPMER Surgery: 5, JIPMER Medicine: 3/12, JIPMER RandOnc: 6/8," he added.

"Vacancies after 2nd Round of INICET Counselling, as per information from various residents of JIPMER: Vacancy Update: 4/4 Pharm, 6/8 RadOnco, 4/5 Orthopedics, 4/11 Surgery, 3/12 Medicine, 3/4 Community Medicine, 2/? Paediatrics. If we don't conduct open round, it may be disastrous!" added Datta.

"Dear teachers, we are looking up to you to support our Petitioners in the Petition. In whatever small way you can!" he further added.
