IIT Delhi, Prasar Bharati to host DD-Robocon 2022 on July 16

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is all set to host the 2022 edition of the DD-Robocon at New Delhi's Thyagraj Stadium in association with Prasar Bharati on July 16 and 17, 2022.

IIT Delhi's tweet reads, "#IITDelhi in Association with Prasar Bharati to Host DD-Robocon 2022 -The two-day event to begin on July 16 in New Delhi"

After two years of no fun with the robots of DD-Robocon physically due to COVID-19 pandemic, they are back in action with this inter-institute competition. "Lagori", a game that many of us might have played in our childhood, is the theme of DD-Robocon 2022.

DD-Robocon is backed both technically and event managed by two of IIT Delhi’s not-for-profit companies i.e. Foundation for Smart Manufacturing (FSM) and I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), Technology Innovation Hub of the Institute, as knowledge partners.

Details of DD-Robocon 2022

Out of more than 80 teams, forty-three teams have been shortlisted from the many engineering institutes, which registered for DD-Robocon 2022 in two stages.

About 750+ participants are joining the event. This year's DD-Robocon is special as the event will be followed by its international show, i.e., ABU-Robocon 2022, on August 21, 2022, with teams from 12 countries participating.

DD-Robocon 2022 will be attended by Mr Mayank Agrawal, CEO of Prasar Bharati; Prof Rangan Banerjee, Director of IIT Delhi, and Mr Himanshu Gupta, Director of Delhi School Board.

More than 150 professors, technical staff, and students from IIT Delhi and its neighbouring colleges (JNU, Jamia Milia, AKG College, GL Bajaj) have volunteered to organize this mega event. One can join the event live through DD-Sports on both July 16 and July 17 from 9:30 am to 7 pm.
