IIT Patna's Convocation On August 26 In Virtual Mode

On August 26, the Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT Patna) will organise the eighth edition of the convocation in virtual mode due to the ongoing Covid-19 induced restrictions. 

The virtual convocation will be live on IIT Patna's official website from 10 am on August 26. The event will award degrees to the students graduating from IIT Patna. The convocation will be presided over by Anand Deshpande, Chairman, Board of Governors, and it will be addressed by Prabhakar Raghavan, Senior Vice President Google.

Despite the ongoing pandemic, the number of offers students got this year is the highest. This year, IIT Patna students have received a total of 223 job offers as compared to the last year's 202. 

Most of the placements were done under the information technology (IT) sector followed by the core sector. The jobs were in the areas of research and development, associate engineering, software engineering, data engineering, graduate engineering trainee, analytics, and technology consulting.

The institute also witnessed diversity hiring for physically disabled candidates and female candidates. The companies that conducted diversity hiring this year are - Intuit, Nvidia, and Salesforce.
