JEE Main 2022: Check preparation tips from previous year toppers to score 200-250 marks
Check how JEE Main toppers from 2021, 2020 and 2019 prepared for the exam and secured 250 + marks.
Every JEE Main aspirant wishes to score 250 plus marks and get admission to a top engineering institute. More than 10 lakhs students appear every year in JEE Main for around 31,000 seats across NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs. As the number of aspirants is too high and seats are very less, students have to have a plan and a strategy to clear the exam.
Shiksha.com interacted with a few JEE Main toppers from 2021, 2020 and 2019 to know how they prepared for the exam and what was their plan and strategy for securing 250 plus marks. Students preparing for JEE Main 2022 can follow these plans of the previous year toppers to score good marks in the exam.
Dhruv Arora, JEE Main 2019 topper with 100 percentile score says โI had a timetable for studying and made sure that I follow it strictly. I use to spend at least 5-6 hours every day for JEE Main besides my school hours. Also, I solved previous year papers of last 10 years which made me familiar with the difficulty level of questions and subject-wise weightage of topics.โ One thing which is very important is that students should cover the entire syllabus and do not leave any topic.
Divyanshu Agarwal, JEE Main 2020 topper with a 100 percentile score says โI started my preparation from class 11 and completed the entire JEE Main syllabus when I was in class 12, around 4 months before the exam. In the last 4 months before the exam, my main focus was to solve mock papers and previous year papers.
Landa Jitendra, JEE Main 2020 topper with 100 percentile score says, I use to study for around 14 hours a day during my JEE Mains preparation. I studied primarily with NCERT books but also followed some foreign author books for Physics and Chemistry. During the last 2 months of exam preparation, I use to regularly solve at least 1 mock test paper daily.
JEE Main 2021 topper Ranjim Prabal shares, โduring my preparation, I always emphasized clearing the basic concepts of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. I studied mainly from NCERT and also followed a few other books for solving numerical questions. I made sure that nothing is left unstudied and untouched.
Siddhant Mukherjee, JEE Main 2021 topper with 100 percentile score says, โI first focussed on completing the entire JEE Main syllabus and after which I started solving previous year question papers. During the last 2 months of my exam preparation, I extensively solved the mock test papers and previous year papers.โ
JEE Main 2022 Application Form and Exam Date
NTA has not announced the application form and exam date for JEE Main 2022. It is expected that registration will start from February first week. The exam is likely to be conducted in four sessions. The first session will be held tentatively in March.
