JEE Main 2022: After facing flak for alleged irregularities in the JEE Main 2021, the National Testing Agency (NTA), the conducting authority of JEE Main, has made several changes in the JEE Main 2022. Read below to know the changes introduced by the NTA in this year’s JEE Main exam. 

The JEE Main 2022, which is also the qualifying test for the JEE Advanced for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), will be conducted in two sessions in April and May this year. While Phase 1 is scheduled to be held from April 16 to April 21, phase 2 will be held from May 24 to 29. Below is the list of changes introduced by NTA for JEE Main 2022.

Correction Facility  

The NTA will not provide JEE Main application correction facility at any stage of the examination. Candidates need to be careful while filling the details in the application form.  

Authentication of mobile number and e-mail address

At the time of registration, candidates have to enter the one-time password (OTP) received at their registered mobile number, and before submitting the fees, they have to enter the OTP received at their registered e-mail address. 

Choice of Cities  

City of allotted examination centre cannot be changed in any case. Note: Choice of exam cities displayed to the candidates will be based on the permanent and correspondence addresses filled during the online application form of JEE Main 2022.  

SANDES Application  

Candidates can download and install the SANDES Application on their smartphone as a secondary channel (apart from SMS/e-mail) to receive notifications from NTA. It is a secondary channel to receive time to time updates from NTA. 

Aadhaar number  

A column/field has been added in the online application form for capturing the Aadhaar number of candidates and it will be on a voluntary basis. 

Umang and DigiLocker  

The NTA is facilitating all candidates with an additional platform of UMANG and DigiLocker to download their documents such as confirmation page, admit card, score cards, etc.  

Negative marking  

There will be negative marking in both Section A (MCQ-type questions) and Section B (numerical value).  

Candidates can visit the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in to register themselves. The last date to fill the application form for the JEE Main first session is March 31, 2022. The exam will be held in 13 languages – Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, English, and Gujarati.
