JoSAA 2022 Counselling: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is all set to start the JoSAA 2022 Counselling on September 12, 2022. JoSAA has already announced the schedule for JoSAA Counselling 2022 on its website at josaa.nic.in. Candidates who have qualified in JEE Main 2022 and JEE Advanced 2022 can complete the JoSAA Counselling registration 2022 and choice filling online till September 21, 2022. Through JoSAA 2022 Counselling, candidates will be granted admission to various engineering programmes at 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, IIEST Shibpur and 33 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs).
JoSAA 2022 counselling will be conducted in a centralised, online mode in a total of six rounds. Candidates who have qualified only JEE Main will be eligible for admission in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs while those candidates who have also qualified JEE Advanced will be eligible for admission in IITs along with NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. JoSAA 2022 Counselling Eligibility Criteria
To participate in JoSAA 2022 counselling process, it is mandatory for the candidates to appear and qualify either JEE Main or JEE Advanced 2022 or both.
JoSAA 2022 Counselling Process
Candidates can refer to the steps mentioned below for JoSAA Counselling 2022 registration and choice filling:
Step-1: JoSAA Counselling 2022 Registration: To complete the registration process, candidates have to log in to JoSAA’s official portal using their JEE Main 2022 roll number and password. Candidates who want to register for JEE Advanced have to enter their credentials of JEE Advanced password to log in. After login, candidates must check all details such as gender, state code of eligibility, nationality, contact information etc. Candidates need to reconfirm all the details.
Step-2: Choices Filling: Upon completion of JoSAA counselling registration, candidates will be required to fill choices of branches and colleges in order of their preference. Once the choices are selected from the available list, candidates will be able to arrange them in the order of their preference by using the “Arrange Filled Choices” option.
Step-3: Locking of Choices: After completing the choice filling process, the candidates need to lock their choices and take a printout of the selected options.
Step-4: Seat Allocation: JoSAA will now allot seats based on rank, choices entered by the candidates for programmes and colleges, and availability of seats. If students are happy with the allotted institute and programme, they can choose the Freeze option otherwise can choose either Float or Slide to be eligible for the next round of the seat allotment process. After downloading the seat allotment letter, candidates need to pay seat acceptance fees.
Step-5: Document Verification: Now, the candidates will be required to complete their documents verified as per the announced schedule. JoSAA document verification process will be conducted online on the official website. Only after completing the document verification process, students will be allowed to report to the allocated institutes for final admission.
Step-6: Report to the allocated institute: As the last step, candidates need to report to the allotted institute to deposit the remaining fee and complete the admission-related formalities.

- Date of Birth Proof (10th Standard Mark Sheet)
- Class 12th (or equivalent) Mark Sheet and Pass Certificate
- Medical Certificate
- Category Certificate (if applicable)
- Certificate for PwD (if applicable)
- Passport (for foreign nationals) or OCI Certificate or PIO Card (if applicable)
- DS Certificate (if applicable)
- Registration cum Locked Choices for Seat Allotment
