AIBE COP 2023: BCI releases important notice on All India Bar Examination Certificate of Practice, check details

All lawyers must get a Certificate of Practice (COP) from the Bar Council of India within two years of their provisional enrollment. The AIBE 17 qualified candidates will get a Certificate of Practice from their enrolled State Bar Councils in accordance with the BCI regulation. The Certificate of Practice (COP) will be sent via fast post to all applicants who pass the AIBE. The pen-and-paper AIBE XVII(17) 2023 Exam was held on February 5, 2023.

Once an individual enrols provisionally with their state bar council, the process of getting AIBE COP starts. Lawyers must complete the Bar Council of India registration form 2023 in order to download their certificate.

How to obtain COP from State Bar Council?

Previously, all eligible candidates would receive a notification from the Bar Council of India regarding the availability of COP at the state bar councils. Afterwards, candidates would visit their state bar council to get the COP. In order to give candidates access to a digital copy of their COP until they receive a print copy, the bar council introduced the AIBESCOPE smartphone application in 2021. Currently, applicants must complete an application form that may be found on the state bar council's official website or at its location.
