Department of All India Bar Examination (AIBE) has been closed until May 31 as lockdown 4.0 announced on May 17. Read here to know more.
The Bar Council of India (BCI) has closed the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) Department due to extension in COVID-19 lockdown until May 31 across the country. On May 16, the department has started the online registrations for AIBE 2020 and, the candidates facing any difficulty in the application process can reach out to the helpdesk mobile number, which operational for this duration. AIBE Department is based in New Delhi, and the state government on May 18 has announced the operation of offices in Delhi with less number of people. Therefore, AIBE Department is currently undermanned and hence, it has been closed for public operations completely.
The official notification released on May 18 regarding the same is as under:
“This is to inform all the candidates that the department for All India Bar Examination will be closed till 31st May 2020 due to extension of the nationwide lockdown as a preventive measure for COVID-19. The helpline numbers 011-49225022/23 will be closed. As per govt. directives we are working at a lesser capacity. In case of any emergency or queries related to AIBE-15, the candidates are requested to call on 9804580458. Any inconvenience caused is regretted.”
On May 15, AIBE Department has announced the status of:
- AIBE 14 - cancelled test centres
- AIBE 14 - candidates disqualified due to cancelled test centres
- AIBE 14 - candidates whose set-code was missing or mismatched with OMR sheet

AIBE 15 is now scheduled to be held on August 16 and, candidates need to apply before August 2 in a complete manner.
