CLAT 2024 Application Process begins. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2024 online application process has begun on the official website - consortiumofnlus.ac.in from today; i.e. July 1, 2023 onwards. Candidates can apply for CLAT 2024 till November 3. The exam will be held on December 3, 2023 as informed by the Consortium of NLUs in 2022.
The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has begun the application process of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) on July 1, 2023. CLAT 2024 Exam Date is December 3.The exam authority will also be sharing three sets of sample questions for CLAT 2024. Earlier, the consortium announced the change in the exam pattern of CLAT 2024 for undergraduates. However, no changes have been made to CLAT 2024 postgraduate.
How to apply for CLAT 2024?
The application process for CLAT 2024 is the same as the earlier one, and candidates can apply in simple steps as under:
- Go to the official website of CLAT Consortium - https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/, and click on CLAT 2024
- A new page will open, wherein candidates have to register as a new candidate by clicking on 'Don't have an account? Register' link on the login page
- Next, the registration form will open up on the same page, where candidates need to fill details like - name, mobile number, email ID, and create a password, and click on 'Register'
- Next, they will recieve an OTP on their entered mobile number, and now candidates need to activate their account by submitting this OTP on the registeration form, 'Received OTP? ACTIVATE ACCOUNT' link.
- Next, they need to login with the registered mobile number and created password to fill the CLAT 2024 application form
- In the application form, they need to fill their academic details, category details, parents details, communication details, select preferred centre locations, as well as, preferred National Law Universities based on their category and location.
- They also need to upload a photograph and signature as per the specifications, and pay the application fee for CLAT 2024 to complete their registration.

The application fee for CLAT 2024 can be paid in online mode using debit card/ credit card/ net banking/ e-wallets/ UPI payment applications. The application fee to be paid for CLAT 2024 is as under:

CLAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should also check the eligibility criteria for their courses before filling up the application form. The CLAT 2024 eligibility for UG and PG courses are as under:
UG courses - "Candidates must secure the following minimum percentage of marks in their qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2 or an equivalent examination):
- Forty five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories
- Forty Percent (40%) marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
- Candidates who may be appearing for their qualifying examination in March/ April, 2023 are also eligible to appear for the CLAT 2023 examination. However, they shall be required to produce an evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission"
PG courses - "An LL.B. Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of Fifty percent (50%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and Forty-Five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
Candidates appearing for their qualifying examination in April/May 2023 are also eligible to apply."

CLAT 2024 Syllabus Revised
The consortium of NLUs has brought some changes to the syllabus of CLAT 2024. The consortium informed the students through an official press release which it published on its website. The CLAT 2024 will now carry 120 questions instead of 150. However, there will be no change in the syllabus or the number of sections in the CLAT 2024 exam. The five sections from which 120 questions will be asked are English Language, Current Affairs Including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.

CLAT Answer Keys 2024
The exam authority will publish the CLAT 2024 answer keys within 24 hours after conducting the examination. The answer keys are released at two levels - first as a provisional key and then a final answer key after revising it. The answer key of CLAT exam mentions correct options against each question asked in the question paper. Moreover, the exam authority also asks candidates to verify their responses with CLAT answer key, and raise objections in case of discrepancies.

CLAT Exam Centres 2024
The NLU Consortium shares the list of exam cities for CLAT exam along with the application form. Moreover, candidates will be able to select at least three cities (nearest first) as their preferred test centre location. For this, they will have to mark their options in CLAT 2024 application form.Candidates are allowed to select up to three CLAT 2024 exam centres while filling up the application form. In each city, there are multiple test centres depending on the number of candidates appearing for the exam. The exam centres of CLAT 2024 will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of the preference and availability of seats. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2024 will be conducted in around 127 test centres in 23 states and 2 union territories across the country.

How was CLAT last year?
CLAT exam 2023 was conducted on December 18. The CLAT exam paper was moderate difficulty and lengthy paper. Aspirants said that the English section was comparatively easier than all the sections. The Quantitative Techniques section of the UG-CLAT 2024 will include short sets of facts or propositions, or other textual representations of numerical information, followed by a series of questions. CLAT Syllabus 2024 for Legal Reasoning
In this section, you will be expected to read passages of around 450 words each. The passages may relate to fact situations or scenarios involving legal matters, public policy questions or moral philosophical enquiries. You will not require any prior knowledge of law to attempt the questions in this section. CLAT Syllabus 2024 for General Knowledge and Current Affairs
In this section, you will be provided passages of up to 450 words each. The passages will be derived from news, journalistic sources and other non-fiction writing. The questions may include an examination of legal information or knowledge discussed in or related to the passage, but would not require any additional knowledge of the law beyond the passage.
Each passage will be followed by a series of questions that will require you to demonstrate your awareness of various aspects of current affairs and general knowledge, including:
- Contemporary events of significance from India and the world;
- Arts and culture;
- International affairs; and
- Historical events of continuing significance.

CLAT Syllabus 2024 for English Language
In this section of the UG-CLAT 2024, you will be provided passages of about 450 words each. These passages will be derived from contemporary or historically significant fiction and non-fiction writing, and would be of a standard that a 12th standard student may be able to read in about 5-7 minutes.
Each passage will be followed by a series of questions that will require you to demonstrate your comprehension and language skills, including your abilities to:
- Read and comprehend the main point discussed in the passage, as well as any arguments and viewpoints discussed or set out in the passage;
- Draw inferences and conclusions based on the passage;
- Summarise the passage;
- Compare and contrast the different arguments or viewpoints set out in the passage; and
- Understand the meaning of various words and phrases in the context that they are used in the passage.

CLAT 2024: Last Date to Apply for Exam
The Consortium will provide more than four months to fill out the CLAT 2024 applications online. The Consortium has activated the CLAT 2024 registration online link along with the release of an official notification. The candidates will be able to apply online for the CLAT 2024 exam from the candidate's dashboard given at the official website; i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

What is the full form of CLAT Exam?
The full form of CLAT is Common Law Admission Test. It is a national-level law entrance exam that is conducted by the Consortium of NLUs for admission to 5-year integrated LLB (UG) and one-year LLM (PG) courses. The exam is conducted for admission to 24 NLUs for UG courses and 21 NLUs for PG courses.

Here's an overview of the question paper pattern for the upcoming CLAT exam for undergraduate courses as under:

CLAT 2024 seat intake
The 22 participating NLUs will accept only CLAT 2024 scores for admission to their UG and PG courses for the upcoming academic session. The program-wise seat intake is as follows.
- 5-year LLB program - 3,213 seats
- One-year LLM - 1,217 seats

CLAT 2024 LLM Academic Eligibility
- Candidates belonging to General/ OBC/ PwD/ NRI/ PIO/ OCI category should possess an LLB or equivalent degree with minimum 50 per cent aggregate
- Candidates belonging to SC/ ST category should possess an LLB or equivalent degree with minimum of 45 per cent aggregate
- Candidates appearing for the final year examination of their qualifying degree are also eligible to apply for CLAT

CLAT 2024 Eligibility: Age Limit
The exam authorities and universities in India set upper or lower age limit for admission to their courses. However, to cater a large number of law aspirants, BCI capped the age restriction the five-year LLB course admission. Therefore, now CLAT consortium follows the same for CLAT eligibility criteria.
- There is no upper age limit to appear for the CLAT 2024 exam as well.
- This means that candidates belonging to any age group can apply for the law entrance exam.

CLAT 2024 LLM Eligibility: Age limit
Given that, there is no age limit for five-year and three-year LLB courses, BCI has relaxed age limit for LLM course admission as well. Therefore,
- There is no upper age limit to apply for the CLAT PG exam as well.
- However, candidates securing same rank and marks in CLAT LLM will be given preference, if they are higher in age than the others.

CLAT PG 2024 Application Process
The Consortium released the CLAT PG Application Form 2024 on July 1, 2023. Candidates must note that the CLAT LLM 2024 application form has been released on official website of CNLU; i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The consortium will allow candidates to fill the CLAT LLM 2024 Application form until November 3, 2023. CLAT 2024 Application form correction window will open by end of November 2024 tentatively.

CLAT Photo Size & Signature: Important Instructions
Candidates must follow the instructions given below while filling out the form in order to avoid rejection of the application.
- Try to avoid taking pictures from smartphones
- Avoid dark backgrounds in the photograph
- Do not wear tinted or dark glasses. Use only clear glasses while taking a photo
- Your face should be clearly visible.
- Make sure that the CLAT Photo Size must be in the specified format.
- Caps, hats, and dark glasses are not acceptable.

Guidelines Regarding Postcard Size Photo for CLAT 2024

- The background of the photo must be either white colour or light colour
- The face of the individual must be clear and visible in the photo
- The image should be professional-looking
- There should not be red-eye in the photo
