CLAT 2024 syllabus for UG and PG courses has been released by the consortium. The CLAT 2024 exam or Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is scheduled to be held on December 3, 2023. The CLAT Exam 2024 is scheduled to be held in pen-paper mode.

CLAT Syllabus 2024: The Consortium of National Law Universities has today released the CLAT 2024 Syllabus. As per the CLAT 2024 Notification, the syllabus of CLAT 2024 has been revised along with the CLAT 2024 Exam pattern. The UG CLAT syllabus 2024 has been changed while the CLAT LLM Syllabus is still the same. The CLAT 2024 exam or Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is scheduled to be held on December 3, 2023. The CLAT Exam 2024 is scheduled to be held in pen-paper mode. The CLAT 2024 scores will be accepted by 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) in the country for admission to both UG and PG courses. 

The UG CLAT syllabus 2024 will consist of five sections - English language, General knowledge and current affairs, legal aptitude, logical reasoning and quantitative abilities. The CLAT LLM syllabus consists of topics from common law subjects of LLB programmes.

UG CLAT 2024: Check Details

  • As per the new notification, the Undergraduate CLAT 2024, for admission to undergraduate courses in the academic year 2024-25, will carry 120 questions instead of 150 questions as in previous years.
  • Aspirants will have 2 hours to complete the CLAT UG 2024 entrance test, as in previous years.
  • The 120 questions will be asked for the same five sections as before; i.e. English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques. 

PG CLAT 2024: Details

There will be no change in the syllabus or number of questions for the postgraduate CLAT 2024.

Candidates are advised to prepare for CLAT 2024 exam as per the syllabus. Further, CLAT syllabus 2024 also helps the candidates know the subject-wise distribution of marks, marking scheme and various other details

CLAT Syllabus 2024 - Overview

  • Skills Tested - Comprehension and reasoning skills and abilities of the candidate.
  • Prior knowledge of legal subjects - The CLAT exam will test whether the candidate has the aptitude and skills required for legal education, rather than test his knowledge of legal subjects. That being said, prior knowledge may be useful for answering questions in the Current Affairs section.   
  • Sections - The question paper will have FIVE sections - 1) English Language 2) Current Affairs, including General Knowledge 3) Legal Reasoning 4) Logical Reasoning, and 5) Quantitative Techniques.
  • Duration of the exam - 2 hours
  • Types of questions asked - Multiple-choice questions
  • Number of questions - 120
  • Marking scheme - 1 mark to be awarded for a correct answer; 0.25 marks will be deducted for an incorrect answer. 
  • Mode of exam - Offline
