NALSAR University of Law is all set to organise a workshop on “Skills for Practicing Law" on May 6, 2023. The workshop is designed to offer an advanced inquiry into law practice skills, on themes which are scarcely included in the regular curriculum and teaching-learning process. The course offers a practical understanding of the following tentative aspects - Interviewing, Legal Research and Writing, Problem Solving, and Persuasive Presentation.

NALSAR University of Law is going to organise a workshop on “Skills for Practicing Law" on May 6, 2023. The workshop will equip participants with a practical understanding of the above-stated skills for practising law and enable them to enrich their advocacy skills.

The workshop will be held on May 6, 2023, between 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. It will contain a total of 4 sessions, approximately 1.5 hours each. As per the thematic agenda, sessions will be held as lectures, group exercises and activities, as well as discussions.

Participants will be given ample opportunity to engage and interact with course instructors 

The workshop is designed to offer an advanced inquiry into law practice skills, on themes which are scarcely included in the regular curriculum and teaching-learning process. The course offers a practical understanding of the following tentative aspects:

1) Interviewing

  • Self-party or client
  • Opposite party before trial ( Summons, Questionnaire and Discovery and Inspection of Documents)

2) Legal Research and Writing

  • Research
  • Effective Writing
  • Drafting (Plaint and Written Statement)

3) Problem Solving

4) Persuasive Presentation and their fellow participants, to enable an environment of collaborative learning.

Recently, the NALSAR team won the Alona M. Evans Award for 4th Best Overall Memorial at the 2023 White & Case International Rounds of the 64th Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Khushi Mittal of NALSAR was the 17th Best Oralist at the International Rounds.
