Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies Delhi has won the first prize at the 11th RGNUL National Moot Court Competition 2023. The winning team received a cash prize of INR 30,000. Army Institute of Law, Mohali, was declared as runner-up.
The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law Punjab organized the 11th National Moot Court Competition from April 20 to April 21, 2023. A total of 30 teams from all over India participated in the competition. The competition aimed at testing the oratory and research skills of the participating teams.
The moot court competition was conducted under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Anand Pawar, Vice Chancellor, RGNUL, Dr Geetika Walia, Associate Professor of Law and members of the moot court committee at RGNUL.
Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies Delhi won the first prize at the competition and was awarded INR 30,000 cash prize. Army Institute of Law, Mohali, was declared as runner-up. They were awarded a cash prize of INR 20,000. Ms Samika Verma from the Army Institute of Law, Mohali was adjudged as the best speaker and she was awarded a cash prize of INR 8000.
The best memorial prize went to HNLU Raipur and they were awarded a cash prize of INR 8000. The best witness prize was won by Shashank Tripathi from RGNUL, Punjab and he was awarded a cash prize of INR 8000.
RGNUL's capacity-building programme from May 15 to May 19
The law university will organise a five days capacity building program on Cyber Laws, Cyber Security, and Forensic Justice from May 15 to May 19, 2023. The last date to apply is May 5, 2023. The programme is open for academicians, professionals, and research scholars and the fee for academicians and professionals is INR 5000 and for research scholars, it is INR 3000.
The main objective is to evaluate the lacunas in the present Cyber Laws and suggests recommendations, to analyze the security and safety concerns in Cyberspace, integrate research ideas for strengthening the Cyber Ecosystem and making it a better place for all and deliberate upon the success of Forensic Justice System.
