The shocking incident came to light on Saturday when Dinesh, a resident of Raipur village in Bilsi tehsil, reached the primary school to get his daughter Aarti admitted. A teacher, Ekta Varshney, denied admission to her, the officials said.

A government school denied admission to a child as her Adhaar Card carries "Madhu ka Panchwa Baccha" (in English: "Baby Five of Madhu") written in place of her name, officials told PTI on Monday.

The officials informed media that card also did not carry the Aadhaar number. The unavailability of proper name made the government school deny admission to the child.

The shocking incident came to light on Saturday when Dinesh, a resident of Raipur village in Bilsi tehsil, reached the primary school to get his daughter Aarti admitted. A teacher, Ekta Varshney, denied admission to her, the officials said. After denying admission, the teacher also asked Dinesh to get the Aadhaar card rectified.

Talking about the incident of negligence, District Magistrate Deepa Ranjan said, "Aadhaar cards are being prepared in post offices and banks. The mistake has happened because of gross negligence. We will alert bank and post office officials and strict action will be taken against those involved in such negligence."

In no time a picture of the Aadhaar card went viral on social media.

School Chalo Abhiyan by UP Government 

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched ‘School Chalo Abhiyan' in the Shravasti district on Monday. The objective behind the launch of this initiative is to ensure 100 per cent enrolment in primary and upper primary schools in the state. The government of Uttar Pradesh has launched School Chalo Abhiyan in UP's Shravasti district as it has the lowest literacy rate in the state followed by Bahraich, Balrampur, Badaun and Rampur.
