Maharashtra DTE extends application date for scholarship

Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship by October 20, 2021.   

The Maharashtra Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has extended the date to apply for scholarship for students who recently took admission to colleges till October 20. The students who are taking admission to engineering, pharmacy, hotel management and catering technology and other professional courses for which the state DTE is conducting the admission can avail of various scholarship schemes of the government such as Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Vastigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojana and Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Yojana. 

A notification issued by the DTE said that the students have started filling up the applications based on their admission on the MahaDBT portal established for scholarships. MahaDBT refers to Maharashtra Direct Benefit Transfer, an online portal that offers various kinds of scholarships to students of the state of Maharashtra. Under this scholarship, there are various courses and departments. The registration procedure for the MahaDBT commenced on December 31, 2020.  
The DTE notification stated that the applications received so far have been verified and processed without any delay. The directorate has extended the date for filling the forms from October 5 to October 20. 

Eligibility criteria for Maharashtra DTE scholarship 

  • The candidate should be an Indian national and should belong to Maharashtra. 
  • The  annual  income  of  the family of the candidate should  not  exceed more than INR  lakh. 
  • The  candidate should have more  than or equal to 50 per  cent of attendance. 
  • He/she  should  not have more than two  years gap in the course. 
  • Deemed university students are not eligible 
  • The  applicants should have enrolled for college admission through the  Centralised  Admission Process (CAP). 
  • The  student should have enrolled for a technical  or professional  course and must possess a “Bonafide Student of Institute”  certificate.
