Maharashtra Minister to approach Centre for Ukraine returned medicos

Maharashtra Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh is all set to approach the centre for accommodating Ukraine returned medicos in Maharashtra medical colleges.

Amit Deshmukh, the Maharashtra Medical Education Minister has said that he will approach the Union government to find out ways to accommodate Ukraine returned medical students in the medical colleges of Maharashtra.

He tweeted, "In presence of former Union Minister of Agriculture, Hon'ble Sharad Pawar and senior officials of the Department of Medical Education, there was a discussion on the admission of Indian students returning from Ukraine so that they can continue their medical education."

"Many of these students are from Maharashtra and they have returned to the state. To avoid any educational loss of these students, the Central Government will be approached to accommodate these students in the medical colleges in Maharashtra, I said in this meeting," reads his another tweet.

AIADMK urges PM Modi to intervene immediately

AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam has urged PM Modi for immediate intervention on this matter and to facilitate these students to continue their medical education in the country. 

The health ministry is also trying to find ways to accommodate these students, any decision in this regard is expected soon as Supreme Court had directed the National Medical Commission (NMC) to come up with a scheme soon.

Meanwhile, the Ukraine returned medicos in West Bengal have resumed their physical classes recently at the government medical colleges of Bengal.

Ever since, these students have returned to the country, the students and their parents have been demanding government's support so that they can continue education in country.
