JMI Exam 2023 Live: Exam Analysis, Answer Key & Expected Cut-off & More

To check the JMI 2023 entrance exam results, candidates can follow the following steps:

Step 1: Visiting the official website of the university

Step 2: Now, click on ‘Admission Result’ tab.

Step 3: Enter the issued credentials to view your results, which will be released in the PDF format

Note: As there will be a lot of students who must have taken the exam, you can use the Ctrl F shortcut and enter your name/ roll number to see your results.

• Candidates can submit their objections against the JMI answer key within 48 hours after the same is published through electronic means.
• Candidates need to pay INR 500 per programme to challenge the answer key.
• No grievance will be entertained without fee payment.
• The examination authority will not entertain any requests submitted after the expiry of the time frame.

The seats allocated for various programmes offered at AJK-Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC) is tabulated below:

Candidates clearing the written test will be called for interview round and those clearing the interview will be offered admission in their respective courses offered at Jamia Millia Islamia University on the basis of merit. Selected candidates will be required to complete their Jamia Millia Islamia Admission formalities as per the admission schedule. Candidates are required to bring their JMI admit card 2023 and attested copies of the following documents at the time of admission.

• Marksheet of qualifying exam (Class 12, graduation)
• Age proof based on the certificate of high school/secondary school or equivalent examination
• Reserved category certificate
• Character Certificate
• Permanent address proof
• Experience and No Objection Certificates (In case of working candidates)

Jamia Millia Islamia Entrance Exam 2023 answer key is expected to be released within three working days after the JMI entrance exam is over on the official website. Meanwhile, there will be many unofficial sources of JMI 2023 answer key, however, candidates should not rely on such answer keys, and wait for the exam authority to publish the answer keys officially. Candidates can compare their responses with the JMI answer key and calculate the estimated score. Challenges against the answer key can be submitted within 48 hours after the answer key is uploaded.

JMI Entrance analysis is being shared by the test-takers, and according to them, the question paper was a bit easy especially the objective part. Questions in the  subjective part were based on significant invention in 2022-23, pictorial based questions and reference to context. Detailed analysis of JMI exam 2023 will be shared soon.

Candidates have started leaving the examination centre. They were asked to submit their question paper booklet and OMR sheet to the invigilator. The JMI exam analysis and student's reaction will be provided soon.

JMI Entrance Exam for Mass Communication concluded at 1 pm. Candidates will be allowed to leave the test centres soon. They will have to hand over the answer sheet properly to the exam invigilator before leaving the test centre. 

The cut off is calculated based on the following factors –

• Difficulty level of exam
• Number of test-takers
• Total marks of the exam
• Number of seats available

JMI Entrance Exam 2023 marking scheme as per the exam pattern released by Jamia Millia Islamia is:

• Correct Answer: One mark (1) for Objective Paper
• Incorrect Answer: Minus one mark (-0.25) for Objective Paper
• Unanswered: No mark (0).
• Candidates obtaining less than 15% marks in the Objective Type/ Multiple Choice questions will not be shortlisted for interview/admission.
• candidates obtaining less than 30% marks in the descriptive part of the Entrance Test, wherever applicable, will not be shortlisted for interview/ admission.

There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in the Objective Type/Multiple Choice questions in all programs of the University. Candidates obtaining less than 15% marks in the Objective Type/ Multiple Choice questions will not be shortlisted for interview/admission. Similiarly, candidates obtaining less than 30% marks in the descriptive part of the Entrance Test, wherever applicable, will not be shortlisted for interview/ admission. The absence of a candidate in any component of the Entrance Test including Written Test, Group- Discussion, Interview, as the case may be, shall forfeit his/her claim for admission in the said Program.

Candidates are allowed to carry only the following items with them into the examination venue:

• Admit card duly filled in.
• A simple transparent Ball Point Pen Blue/Black.
• Additional passport size photograph.
• Personal hand sanitizer (50 ml), if required.
• Personal transparent water bottle.
• Face mask

The exam timings for JMI Entrance Exam 2023 is tabulated below:

Candidates have been directed inside the exam centres according to the seating plan. The exam will begin sharp at 10 am, and question papers will be distributed 10 minutes before the exam timings. No candidates will be allowed entry after 10 am, therefore, candidates must ensure reaching the exam centre before 9:45 am.

Given below are the steps to download the admit card:

Step 1: Visit the official website of Jamia Millia Islamia University.

Step 2: Click on 'Application Form' tab.

Step 3: Enter the login ID/email ID, mobile number and password to log in again.

Step 4: Once the candidate has entered the details, a link will be available ‘Download Admit Card’.

Step 5: Check all the details and download the document.

Note: It is advised to take two printouts of the JMI admit card. Verify the details before appearing for the JMI Entrance Exam. In case of any error, candidates should immediately contact the university for the same.

Candidates must follow the rules stated below:

• Write down your roll number, name, and question paper booklet set code properly.
• Attempt your question paper carefully, and do not leave the desk before 1 pm.
• Washroom breaks to be allowed as per the discretion of centre officials/ exam invigilator, therefore, ask before you leave your desk.
• Do not ask for answers from fellow test-takers or it will be considered a ground for disqualification. In case of cheating, strict punishment is levied.
• Fill the OMR sheet with black or blue ball point pen only.

Candidates can carry any one of the authorised photo IDs (must be original, valid, and non-expired) to the JMI Entrance Exam 2023 centre:

• PAN card
• Driving License
• Voter ID card
• Passport
• Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/E-Aadhaar with photograph
• Ration Card with photograph

The candidate must show, on-demand the following documents:

• JMI Admit Card 2023 downloaded/printed from the JMI website for admission in the examination room/hall.
• The Test Centre Staff on duty is authorised to verify the identity of candidates and may take steps to verify and confirm the identity credentials.
• Candidates are requested to extend their full cooperation.
• Candidates who do not possess valid Admit Cards and authorized Photo IDs shall not be permitted to take the examination.

Candidates must note the exam instructions carefully (AVOID THESE MISTAKES):

• Use only Blue/Black Ball Point Pen for filling up the answer sheet. Using a pencil for marking on the answer sheet will lead to disqualification of the exam.
• Write the roll number on the answer sheet as mentioned on the admit card and fill in the respective ovals. Any mismatch would lead to disqualification.
• Fill Question Booklet Set Code and Roll Number and all other necessary information correctly on the answer sheet.
• Do not leave the examination hall before the exam timings and without handing over the Answer sheet.

The exam authority has not mandated any dress code for Jamia Millia Islamia candidates, and they can appear in any dress - formal or casual as they like. Only sunglasses, smart watches, mobile phones will not be allowed inside the examination hall. Candidates must ensure following the instructions as provided on the admit card and by the test centre officials before the exam begins.

The second half page of the JMI Admit Card contains important instructions related to the Jamia Millia Islamia Entrance Exam. The candidates are requested to go through all the points carefully and ensure that they have completed all the necessary formalities to appear for the examination. The instruction list is given below for reference:

Candidates appearing for JMI Entrance Exam 2023 for MA Mass Communication Program must report at the exam centre between 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM. Similarly, candidates applying for MA Convergent Journalism will have to reach the exam centre between 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM. This means that the candidates are required to reach the JMI exam centre at least 30 minutes in advance. The last entry allowed by the exam centre officials is at 9:55 am and 2:25 pm for the respective courses. Candidates are advised to reach the examination centre on time to get timely details of seat allotment and completion of formalities by the officials of the examination centre.
