Badruka School of Management announces BSM IGNITE Business Competition Winners

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and budding entrepreneurs who presented innovative business ideas aimed at tackling contemporary challenges. Before the finale, participants navigated through two preliminary rounds: an entrepreneurship-themed quiz and the submission of an executive pitch video outlining their business idea. The seven shortlisted teams, drawn from across the country, were invited to compete in the showdown.

Badruka School of Management (BSM), under the Badruka Educational Society, recently concluded the third and final round of in-person presentations for BSM IGNITE, a business case competition in Hyderabad. BSM IGNITE was conceived as a platform for young and aspiring business leaders to showcase their entrepreneurial ventures and receive invaluable feedback from industry experts, mentors, and academic luminaries. Encouraging Words from BSM Director

Dr Prabhu Aggarwal, Director of BSM, inaugurated the event, emphasizing the significance of nurturing an entrepreneurial spirit and fostering innovation among students. He remarked, “BSM IGNITE goes beyond being a mere competition; it is a celebration of creativity, critical thinking, and the determination to make a difference in the business landscape. At BSM, we are dedicated to championing innovation and entrepreneurship, integral values that guide our institution.”

Insightful Judging Panel

The panel of judges comprised esteemed professionals, including Dr Prabhu Aggarwal, Ramesh Loganathan, Professor of Co-Innovation at IIIT Hyderabad, and Aditya Vuchi, Co-Founder and CEO of MediaMint. They provided valuable critiques and guidance, aiding participants in refining their business models and presentations.

Celebrating Young Minds and Ideas

Loganathan stressed the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in shaping the future of business, emphasizing the need to provide platforms for young individuals to showcase their ideas and receive guidance to scale new heights of success.

Vuchi added, “It was inspiring to witness the creativity and passion of the participants in addressing various issues. We need more platforms like this to empower students to express themselves. Kudos to Badruka School of Management for bringing such a platform to Hyderabad.”

A Platform for Innovation

Each team had approximately 20 minutes to present a diverse array of business concepts, ranging from tech-driven solutions to social enterprises. They elucidated their business plans, market analyses, and growth strategies, vying for the chance to emerge victorious.

Recognizing Excellence

Following the presentations, the judges evaluated the teams based on criteria such as Problem Identification & Solution, Market Analysis & Research, Business Model, and Value Proposition. The winners, Teams Picapool and Bagboutique, were awarded seed funding of INR 1 lakh each and mentorship to help materialize their innovative ideas into successful ventures. Picapool aims to connect individuals seeking singular products with maximum discounts, while Bagboutique focuses on recycling textile waste into ethnic wear and jewelry.

Participants expressed their excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to engage in such a dynamic and supportive environment. Tushar Jain, one of the winners, remarked, “BSM IGNITE provided us with a platform to transform our ideas into potential ventures. The judges' feedback was invaluable. The event was impeccably organized, and the institute's support was commendable. It was an enriching experience.”
