COVID-19 Lockdown: FLAME University starts online classes for over 200 courses

FLAME University, Pune has started online classes for more than 200 courses, including diverse subjects like calculus, psychology, finance, music, and virtual arts.

FLAME University has announced that it has successfully moved to online classes and is conducting the same for more than 200 courses.

The online classes offered by the University include those as diverse as calculus, psychology, finance, economics, cinematography, music and virtual art.

The COVID-19 outbreak is an alarming situation. To avoid any academic loss of the students during this 21-day coronavirus lockdown, we have started taking online classes in coordination with our faculty members. It is definitely an alarming situation but we have adapted well, said Dr. Dishan Kamdar, Vice-Chancellor, FLAME University.

The university has formed a digital learning task force to help and train faculty members in this transition from the classroom to online classes. G-Suite products and Google Meet is being used to centralize class schedule and for giving tutorial support to faculty members and students. We have also made two temporary studios at the campus, he said.

Talking about the assessment procedure, he said, many faculty members are using FLAME University’s Learning Management System. They are also creating an online quiz to keep students engaged while they are at home.

To help students and teachers, we have also digitized the FLAME University Library. This way students can access all subscribed databases and digital resources from off-campus locations.

Many universities’, colleges, and educational institutions around the country have opted for online teaching mode amid the COVID-19 lockdown. 

FLAME University Admission Process

The admission is based on the FEAT, SAT, and ACT entrance examinations. It involves evaluation of an essay, academic record, followed by a personal interview. Students have to make sure that they score well in the examination to get admission in the University. The admission authorities of the institution set a Cut-off, based on which admission is given.
