FT MiM Ranking 2020: IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta & IIM Bangalore featured in the Top 50 list

The official reports suggest that IIM Ahmedabad was placed among Top 50 for its Two-Year Post Graduate Programme in Management (MBA), IIM Calcutta and IIM Bangalore secured the place for its Post Graduate Programme in Management (MBA).

Three Indian Institute of Management, IIMs secured places in the Top 50 list of Financial Times (FT) Masters in Management (MiM) Rankings that got released on Monday, Septemeber 28. According to the list of rankings released, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, and IIM Bangalore secured 20th, 21st, and 36th position in the global rankings. Apart from this IIM Udaipur secured 72nd rank in the list. The official reports suggest that IIM Ahmedabad was placed among Top 50 for its Two-Year Post Graduate Programme in Management (MBA), IIM Calcutta and IIM Bangalore secured the place for its Post Graduate Programme in Management (MBA).

Comparing the past records, in 2019, IIM Ahmedabad was in the 21st position which has now moved up by 1 place this year. However, IIM Calcutta dipped by 3 positions and IIM Bangalore performed well and moved up 8 places from last year. Considering the focused parameters of the ranking, IIM Bangalore scored notably well on categories such as value for money, career progression, student gender diversity ratio, career services ranks, and the involvement of international faculty.

Talking about the ranking, professor Abhoy K. Ojha, Dean of Programmes at IIMB, stated, β€œThe FT ranking for 2020 is the reaffirmation of the leadership position of the programme. The rankings significantly focus on alumni performance in the industry. IIM-B scoring exceedingly well on the career progression parameter reiterates that the various initiatives undertaken at IIMB, in terms of graduate employability, entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes, and thought leadership are in the right direction.”

The FT MIM ranking observes the top 90 Masters in Management programs globally. The FT Ranking assesses management institutes on several parameters, including alumni career progress, school diversity, and research. The ranking is based on 17 criteria Alumni responses inform seven criteria that together contribute 58 per cent to the ranking’s total weight. The remaining ten criteria are calculated from school data and given 42 per cent weightage.

Meanwhile, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore got placed among the Top 50 in the QS Masters in Management 2021 list. IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Lucknow, and IIM Udaipur secured 101+ Band in the Management list that was released a few days back.
