IIM CAT 2024 Registration (Started) Live Updates; How to apply @iimcat.ac.in, Fees, Documents Required

CAT 2024 form correction date will be announced after the closure of registration process. It can be expected to be held after September 13, 2024. During form correction, candidates will be able to edit the following in their CAT application form 2024:

• Photo
• Signature
• Test City

CAT 2024 registration last date is September 13, 2024. Form submission and fee payment window will be closed at 5:00 pm. However, going by past years’ trends, the registration deadline can be extended by a week.

Apart from class 10, 12 and graduation marks certificates for filling in academic details, candidates will need work experience documents too, if they wish to mention that.

For uploading, candidates will need to keep ready with them:

• A recent passport size photo
• Scanned signature on a white paper
• A photo ID issued by Govt. of India

CAT registration fee can be paid in online mode only, through debit card, credit card, net banking and e-wallets. Candidates must ensure the fee has been remitted successfully for acceptance of CAT form 2024.

CAT registration fees is INR 2500 for General/ NC-OBC, OBC, EWS category students and INR 1250 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Last year, the fees was INR 2400 and INR 1200, for the two category groups respectively. 

Candidates can fill the CAT 2024 form through a smart phone too. The CAT 2024 Application Form is compatible with Android (version 4.0 and above) and iOS (version 11 and above).

Candidates can use Mozilla (version 94 to 112), Google Chrome (88 to 113) or Microsoft Edge (88 to 113) browser to fill in CAT form 2024.

CAT 2024 registration has commenced. Candidates can now apply for the exam at the official website by filling the CAT 2024 application form. 

Candidates will have to mention their name, date of birth, nationality, state, phone number and email ID to register for CAT 2024.

CAT 2024 registration process is to start in a few minutes from now. The link to register for CAT and fill the application form will be activated by 10:00 pm.

Candidates can fill the CAT application form 2024 first and pay the fee later. However, they need to pay the CAT registration fees before the last date.

There is no reservation criteria for CAT, however for admission to MBA programme, the IIMS follow Reservation criteria prescribed by the Government of India.

• 15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates
• 5% for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates
• 27% of the seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the “non-creamy” layer (NC-OBC).
• Up to 10% of the seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates

The CAT 2024 application form will be hosted directly on iimcat.ac.in website only. It is the official CAT website for CAT 2024. All exam related activities will be done on this website. Shiksha will share the link here as soon as it is activated.

The CAT 2024 registration process will start from 10:00 am. The CAT application form 2024 will be activated at the CAT 2024 website at 10:00 am which will be available through login.

IIM CAT 2024 registration process is all set to commence today. Candidates who wish to pursue MBA form IIMs and other top colleges in India, have to register for the entrance exam.

CAT Quantitative Aptitude topics include geometry, algebra, arithmetic, mensuration, trigonometry, modern math. This section is usually dominated by arithmetic questions.

The CAT DILR topics include data structure, data sufficiency, tables, pie charts, graphs, series, coding-decoding, family tree, blood relation, seating arrangement and, assumptions.

The CAT VARC topics include parajumbles, reading comprehension, para completion, odd sentence out and verbal reasoning.

The CAT 2024 syllabus includes three subjects – Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude.

There is no change in the CAT exam pattern. The exam remains an MCQ-based test with 66 questions to solve in 2 hours. For every correct attempt +3 will be awarded and for every incorrect attempt -1 will be awarded.

The CAT 2024 exam timings will be:

• Morning slot: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
• Afternoon slot: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM
• Evening slot: 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM

The duration of CAT exam will be 120 minutes for every session. PwD candidates will be given extra time of about 29 minutes to complete the test.

To fill CAT 2024 application form, candidates can use Edge Chromium or Mozilla Firefox (version 56 and above) and Google Chrome (version 59 and above).

The list of CAT test cities will be there in the CAT application form 2024. Candidates will have to choose their preferences from the drop down.

Candidates have to appear for CAT exam to be eligible for PGP, MBA, E-MBA, PGPEX, EPGDSM, PhD, E-PhD and Doctoral Program (WP) offered by the 21 IIMs.

After the CAT 2024 registration is over, the form correction window will be opened for 2-3 days during which candidates will be able to edit their photo, signature and test city option.

Candidates will be required to upload the following documents in the CAT application form 2024:

• Recent passport size photo
• Scanned signature
• Photo ID issued by the Government of India

As per the official CAT 2024 notification, the exam will be conducted in 170 cities across India. Candidates will get the option to select 5 cities for test centre allotment.

There is no change in CAT syllabus or pattern for 2024 exam. The test will be of 2 hours in which candidates will have to attempt 66 questions. Topics will be from VARC, DILR and Quantitative Aptitude.

As per the official notification the CAT exam 2024 registration last date is September 13, 2024. The application form submission window will close at 5:00 pm.

In the CAT application from 2024, candidates will find all 21 IIMs mentioned along with the courses. Candidates can select upto 21 IIMs in the CAT form 2024.

Candidates who have appeared for CAT exam before must note that, previous login credentials are not valid for CAT 2024 registration. They will have to register as new user.

This year, candidates can select upto 5 cities in the CAT application form 2024 for test centre allotment. The examination authority will strive to allot an exam centre in the first city of preference.

CAT 2024 notification was released on July 28, 2024 and the exam website was launched the same day.

CAT registration fee has been increased this year as well.

• Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD
• Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s degree or awaiting result can also apply for CAT 2024.
• Professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA (CMA)/Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI)) with required percentage

IIM Calcutta will be conducting CAT 2024. The institute will conduct the exam on November 24, 2024 in three shifts in over 170 cities. 

CAT registration cum application window will be made live at 10:00 am tomorrow. Candidates will be able to register for CAT 2024 and fill the application form from then onwards.
