IIM Kozhikode inaugurates 17th Batch of Executive MBA Programme with Record Gender Diversity

The current EPGP batch is made up of professionals from over 150 organizations across various sectors. The cohort includes participants from IT, software, public sector, energy, aerospace, education, consulting, manufacturing, automotive, banking, accounting, and insurance.

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has officially inaugurated the 17th batch of its Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) for working professionals. The ceremony marked the beginning of the 2025-2027 cohort, which saw an impressive enrollment of 548 participants. The event was graced by Adil Zainulbhai, Chairman of the Capacity Building Commission and former McKinsey India chairman, who served as the chief guest. The inauguration was presided over by Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode.

Record Gender Diversity in IIM Kozhikode’s Executive MBA Programme

For the first time in the history of IIM Kozhikode’s EPGP, the cohort reflects an exceptional 26% female participation, setting a new benchmark for gender diversity. This significant increase highlights the growing inclusion of women in leadership and management roles. The cohort also showcases a rich blend of experience, with professionals having an average of nearly 10 years of work experience. Thirty percent of the participants come with 6 to 9 years of professional experience, which will add valuable insights into classroom discussions.

Diverse and Experienced Cohort Across Sectors

The current EPGP batch is made up of professionals from over 150 organizations across various sectors. The cohort includes participants from IT, software, public sector, energy, aerospace, education, consulting, manufacturing, automotive, banking, accounting, and insurance. More than 50% of the participants are aged between 30 and 39, bringing a diverse mix of perspectives, work experiences, and ambitions to the programme.

IIM Kozhikode Partners with Emeritus for Innovative Learning Opportunities

IIM Kozhikode has recently launched a Professional Certificate Programme in Design Thinking and Innovation with Artificial Intelligence (AI), in collaboration with Emeritus. This partnership reflects the institute’s commitment to offering cutting-edge programmes that equip professionals with the necessary tools to excel in the ever-evolving business landscape. The new programme blends design thinking with AI to prepare students for future leadership roles in a technology-driven world.

Adil Zainulbhai Encourages Cohort to Contribute to a Self-Reliant India by 2047

During his address, Adil Zainulbhai urged the cohort to develop a strong learning mindset in order to contribute to the vision of a self-reliant India by 2047. Drawing on his vast experience in both private and government organizations, Zainulbhai emphasized the importance of being in the right place, at the right time, with the right skill set. He underscored India’s technological advancements and described this period as ‘India’s Century.’ Zainulbhai shared strategies on how the country can leverage its strengths to enhance its global position, urging the students to actively engage in this journey of national growth.

Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode, congratulated the candidates for securing admission to the esteemed Executive MBA programme.
