IIM Nagpur collaborates with Japanese University to promote collaborative research in management

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur has signed a landmark agreement with Chuo University, Graduate School of Strategic Management, Japan to promote collaborative research and higher education, in management.

With an aim to promote collaborative research and higher education in management, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur has collaborated with Chuo University, Graduate School of Strategic Management (GSoSM), Japan. 

IIM Nagpur agreement with Chuo University, GSoSM, is first of kind with any major Asian university offering higher education. This agreement is expected to open up the possibility of deep academic exchanges with reputed Japanese universities. Specifically, the agreement paves the way for collaborative research on contemporary issues, faculty and student exchanges, and also cultural exchanges between the two schools.

The agreement will mainly focus on the managerial and administrative issues in the cross-cultural context, entrepreneurship, and management of technology, among others.

IIM Nagpur has recently set up a dedicated center of excellence, named the Indo-Japan Research Center (IJRC) under the leadership of Professor, Rahul Kuman Sett. 

Speaking on the collaboration, Professor L S Murthy, Director, IIM Nagpur said that this collaboration is expected to open up opportunities both in the field of academia and the industry. The institute will nurture and develop these relationships in developing new knowledge and knowhow to enrich industrial best practices and strategies, and to foster cross-cultural collaborative research in management. Ultimately, the aim is to develop something that is Asian in character but global in application.”
