The Indian Institute of Management Nagpur (IIM Nagpur), in collaboration with the State Bank of India (SBI), launched a significant Tree Plantation Drive today at the Nagpur Main campus. This initiative, part of the Institute’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Activities Division, aims to promote environmental sustainability and contribute to India’s ongoing efforts toward a greener future.

The event was graced by Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director of IIM Nagpur, alongside Professor Prashant Gupta, Dean of Faculty, Academics & Alumni Affairs at IIM Nagpur. The SBI team, led by Shri Rakesh Kumar Yadav, General Manager, included other notable members such as Shri Rajeev Sawrav, DGM, and Shri Mrutyunjay Panda, RM of SBI Nagpur Division. Faculty and staff members from IIM Nagpur, along with their families and SBI personnel, actively participated in the initiative, ensuring its success.

Dr Bhimaraya Metri expressed pride in the partnership with SBI, stating, “At IIM Nagpur, we always believe in integrating sustainability into our core values. This drive demonstrates our commitment to creating a better future for generations to come.” The collaboration reaffirms both IIM Nagpur and SBI’s dedication to environmental stewardship, aligning with the Government of India’s National Forest Policy (2018) and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Shri Rakesh Kumar Yadav emphasized SBI’s commitment to environmental initiatives, noting, “SBI has always been at the forefront of environmental activities. It is a delight to collaborate with IIM Nagpur to promote CSR initiatives.” He highlighted the potential for significant impact through such drives, showcasing the importance of corporate collaboration in environmental efforts. The program was coordinated by the Office of the Fund Initiatives, Estate.
