JAGSoM 28th Convocation celebrates Success & Innovation; 355 students conferred

JAGSoM 28th Convocation: The Jagdish Sheth School of Management (JAGSoM) hosted its 28th convocation at its Bangalore campus. The ceremony marked the culmination of academic achievements for 355 graduating participants from the Class of 2024, receiving postgraduate diplomas in PGDM Full-time and PGDM Executive programs.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, with Supreet Sachdev, Office Managing Partner of KPMG Bangalore, serving as the chief guest. Sanjay Padode, Founding President of Vijaybhoomi University & Co-Founder of JAGSoM, presided over the convocation. Dr Atish Chattopadhyay, Director of JAGSoM and Vice Chancellor of Vijaybhoomi University, shared the dais with Padode. Additionally, Dr Jagdish Sheth, Chairman of JAGSoM, and Dr A Parasuraman, Chairman of the board of studies, JAGSoM & Pro-Chancellor of Vijaybhoomi University, joined virtually from the USA. Kalpana Padode, Secretary of the Centre for Developmental Education (CDE), was also among the esteemed dignitaries present.

Rewards & Recognitions

Highlighting academic excellence, Dishti Sharma emerged as the program topper with a remarkable CGPA of 8.82, earning the Gold Medal. Nine other top scorers, including Bhavya Bipin Mehta, Gurram Chaitanya, and Mithun S, were felicitated with the Director’s Honor List, showcasing outstanding academic performance.

Celebrating entrepreneurial spirit, Manoj Prakash, a graduate of PGDM 2022-24, was acknowledged for founding Juventra Private Limited, a venture specializing in Waste Management, which received a patent in August 2023.

Learning by Solving

With a strategic focus on aligning students with their career aspirations, JAGSoM's placement strategy revolves around the 'Learning by Solving' approach. This approach ensures students are equipped with the skills required to excel in their chosen career tracks and target roles.

A total of 91 recruiters participated in the final placement process, representing a diverse spectrum of industries. Notable recruiters included Bosch, Wipro, Hexaware, Aditya Birla, NeoStats, HSBC, and Bajaj, among others. The diverse nature of recruiters, ranging from traditional sectors to new-age companies in MarTech, Fintech, and Analytics domains, reflects JAGSoM's relevance in today's dynamic business landscape.

In his address, Sanjay Padode encouraged graduates to embrace innovation and transformation, emphasizing the importance of lifelong learning and integrity. Supreet Sachdev echoed similar sentiments, stressing the significance of impact creation and future-oriented skills in shaping the business world.

Dr Atish Chattopadhyay, in his closing remarks, highlighted the institute's achievements and encouraged graduates to embrace resilience amidst rapid change. He also announced scholarships worth more than INR 1.27 crores, underscoring JAGSoM's commitment to supporting meritorious yet economically challenged students.
