Karnataka Examinations Authority facilitated the PGCET options entry link on its official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea. Candidates have to choose the college preference using the PGCET option entry process. Today, November 6, is the last date for Karnataka PGCET option entry. Candidates can access the Karnataka PGCET options entry window until 6 PM, today. Based on the options chosen by the candidate, KEA will soon release the mock seat allotment results at kea.kar.nic.in.

Every year KEA administers a mock allotment round for clarification on the entire allotment process. Soon after the mock allotment results are released, candidates will be given a facility to change their order of college preferences. Mock allotment results indicate the college that might be allocated based on a candidate’s PGCET rank. Candidates may or may not get the same college allotment in the first round. Therefore, candidates must ensure using the facility to shuffle options after the mock allotment results are released.

Along with the Karnataka PGCET allotment results, KEA will release the PGCET cutoff ranks. Candidates can find the PDF files for course-wise cutoff ranks.

Karnataka PGCET Seats 2024

KEA plans to fill as many as 49286 seats in Karnataka for MBA, MCA, ME, MTech, and MArch courses. Out of these, 30,739 seats will be filled by 260 MBA colleges in the state. While, 135 colleges across the state will fill 12,888 MCA seats. The remaining seats will be filled for ME, MTech, and MArch courses through PGCET and GATE scores.

KEA will likely conduct two allotment rounds for admissions through Karnataka PGCET centralised counselling.

Q:   How is Karnataka PGCET mock allotment round different from real allotment round?

A:

Karnataka Examinations Authority publishes the PGCET mock allotment status before commencement of the first seat allotment round. Candidates are not allotted seat based on the PGCET mock allotment results. However, the actual seat allotment round leads to allocation of seats in Karnataka PGCET participating colleges. Candidates get the facility to change their options after checking the mock allotment status. Mock allotment round is conducted familiarise candidates with the course and college allotted to them based on the ranks.
