Shiksha Polls: 73% Favour Self Study for NMAT Preparation

A recent poll conducted on Shiksha.com has indicated the preferred preparation methods among NMAT aspirants. The poll, which included a sample size of 184 candidates, revealed that a significant majority of aspirants favour self-study as their primary method for NMAT exam preparation.

Out of the total respondents, approximately 73 per cent (134 candidates) indicated that they rely on self-study to prepare for the NMAT exam. Self-study being flexible and effective may be a possible reason for this overwhelming response by the candidates.

With 21 votes coaching classes leading at second position also emerged as a popular choice for prep. Online courses had a neck-to-neck preference for MBA exam preparation. The poll indicated that 11 per cent of the aspirants prefer coaching institutes for their desired mode of preparation. Whereas, 10 per cent candidates voted for online courses as their NMAT preparation medium.

This indicates that while a smaller portion of aspirants prefer structured guidance and support from professional coaching institutes, it remains a notable option for NMAT preparation. Online courses were chosen by 19 candidates, highlighting the growing trend of digital learning platforms. Several online video platforms have educators who design economical courses if compared with the coaching institutes. These courses offer the convenience of studying from anywhere and often provide a variety of resources and interactive content to aid in exam preparation.

Study groups, however, were the least favoured method, with only 10 candidates, 5 per cent of the sample size, selecting this option. This could be due to the challenges of coordinating schedules and the preference for a more individualised study approach.

The poll results shed light on a strong inclination towards self-directed learning among NMAT aspirants. This trend may reflect the increasing availability of economical online resources and study materials that enable candidates to tailor their NMAT preparation according to their own pace and understanding.

For those preparing for the NMAT, these insights can be valuable in deciding the best approach to their studies. Whether through self-study, coaching classes, online courses, or study groups, each method offers unique benefits that can cater to different learning styles and preferences of individuals.

NMAT exam is underway with the test window closing on December 20. Candidates have been allowed to appear for the NMAT 2024 exam thrice during the test window.
