West Bengal gives land for IIM Calcutta's Satellite Campus

By having a presence in New Town Kolkata, IIM Calcutta would secure growth opportunities which were paramount for global eminence. The town is likely to be one of the most futuristic townships in India.

IIM Calcutta conveyed its thankfulness to Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, and State Government establishments for the allocation of prime land in New Town, Kolkata to establish a satellite campus. IIM Calcutta relishes the status of "Triple Crown" accreditation by AMBA (of UK), EFMD (of Europe) and AACSB (of USA). It is the sole Indian business school to be a member of the CEMS, the eminent international coalition of management education. The leading business school is constantly ranked in the top three business schools in the country. 

IIM Calcutta Director Professor Anju Seth held that the vision of chief minister Mamta Banerjee in granting a request for the land came at the right time to support the ambitious plans of the institute to augment and expand the programmes of the institute. She further stated that the institute was thrilled to pursue various strategic initiatives for the overall and holistic development of the institute. The Chairperson of Board of Governors of IIM Calcutta, Shrikrishna Kulkarni, opined that by having a presence in New Town Kolkata, IIM Calcutta would secure growth opportunities which were paramount for global eminence. The town is likely to be one of the most futuristic townships in India.

According to the Chief Administrative Officer of IIM Calcutta, Lt. Col. (Retd.) Alok Chandra, the state government has facilitated important infrastructure improvements consisting of municipal water supply to the Joka campus of IIM Calcutta. Lt. Col. (Retd.) Alok Chandra, the Chief Administrative Officer of IIM Calcutta mentioned that in addition to allocating scarce valuable land in New Town, the State Government has facilitated important infrastructure improvements including municipal water supply to the Joka campus of IIM Calcutta.
