Medical fraternity demands to regulate fee for medical education
The medical fraternity has welcomed the AAP CM candidate Bhagwant Mann's commitment to regulate the fee of the colleges to make it affordable for everyone.
The Russia and Ukraine war has highlighted the issue that many medical students from India are studying abroad. The father of the medical student Naveen Shekharappa who has died in Ukraine yesterday has also said that medical education abroad is much more affordable than in India. The medical fraternity is demanding that the fee of the medical colleges in India must be affordable to everyone.
The fraternity has lauded AAP CM candidate in Punjab Bhagwant Mann's commitment to regulate fees and make it affordable for everyone so that the Indian students need not opt for studying abroad.
Dr Vitull Gupta, the chairman, Association of Physicians of India, Malwa branch, said: “We have been demanding reduction of obnoxiously high fee being charged by medical colleges in the state for long, but to our surprise, the government recently revised and hiked the fee structure, instead of lowering it. The war in Ukraine has exposed how a large number of students are seeking admissions in foreign countries because of the high fee for medical education in India. Mann’s assurance on regulating fee of medical colleges is praiseworthy,” as reported by Tribune India.
PM Modi urges private sector to enter medical education field
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also said that medical students are going to other smaller countries to study medicine even when they face language problems there. He has asked the private sector why can't they enter the medical education field and also asked state governments to make better policies for land allotment for medical colleges.
