AIIMS Raipur, IIT Bhilai sign MoU for new avenues

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur has signed an MoU with IIT Bhilai to provide affordable technological solutions to patients.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur has notified that it has signed an MoU with IIT Bhilai to explore new opportunities for research.

AIIMS Raipur's tweet reads, "To provide affordable technological solutions to patients and to promote technological advancement in the Medical field, #aiims_rpr and #IIT Bhilai have joined hands together. Both have signed MoU, which will open new avenues between the two prominent institutes of Chhattisgarh."

 

AIIMS Raipur and IIT Bhilai will jointly develop effective and low-cost technology for treatment. Director of AIIMS Raipur Dr Nitin M Nagarkar and Director of IIT Bhilai Prof Rajat Moona have signed this agreement. It was informed that IIT Bhilai has developed new technology and equipment after continuous research to reduce the cost of eye patients and MRI. It can be transferred to AIIMS Raipur for trial, as reported by Dainik Bhaskar.

Prof Rajat Moona informed that there are more than 10 startups in IITs which have provided their technical expertise for various sectors. In these, a new machine has also been made to test the light of the eyes, which can test at a very low cost. Research has also been done to reduce the cost of MRI, which will benefit all sections.

On this occasion, IIT Bhilai also proposed to start a course on new technology for medical students. Prof Rajat Moona said that this is the first of its kind MoU between a medical institute and technical institute which can open new avenues for the state.

Professor Nagarkar said that the faculties of both institutes can start joint research together. There is always a need for new technology in the field of medicine which the engineers of IIT Bhilai can fulfil. This agreement is a step in this direction.
