The Assam NEET counselling 2024 Round 1 choice locking process has started today, August 26, 2024, at 5 PM. Only those candidates who have registered and filled choices will be able to avail the choice locking window.

The registration process for Assam NEET 2024 counselling process was conducted from August 21 to August 23, 2024. The choice filling process commenced on August 24, 2024, and the last date to fill choices is August 26, 2024, 10 PM. The choice locking window will be open till 11.55 PM today.

How to Fill and Lock Choices of Assam NEET Counselling 2024

  • Visit the official website of Assam NEET Counselling – dme.assam.gov.in
  • Click on the link indicating NEET UG 2024 choice filling or directly enter https://smbform.in/Pref_Ug_Assam_2024/
  • Enter the application number, password, date of birth
  • Click on Log in
  • Click the arrow on the box for the Institution of preference when a dropdown menu appears with the names of participating Institutions. Click on the Institution of your choice.
  • Candidate must fill in at least one preference before Locking. Any Form Locked without filling in any preference will be considered as a candidate not participating in the Counselling process.
  • To add a new preference in between two existing preferences, candidates have to select the preference before which they want to insert the new preference and then click the `Insert in Between` button at the top-right-hand corner of the Preference Form. After that, they have to choose a new Institution of choice. This will add a new preference at the desired place. Click the `Default` button and the `Save preferences` button to save the changes.
  • To lock the choices, candidates have to click the `Save Preferences` button to save the last preferences and then click the `Final Submit` button. They are advised to ensure that the choices are saved properly before locking as once the preferences are locked these cannot be changed. They must confirm it and click the `Lock Preferences` button.
  • The Online Choice Filling Form will not be accessible any more once the candidate clicks the `Lock Preferences` button and confirms it. So, candidates are advised to check the Form carefully before clicking the `Lock Preferences` button and confirming it.

Instructions for Assam NEET Counselling 2024 Choice Filling and Locking

DME Assam has given certain instructions regarding the Assam NEET counselling 2024 choice filling and locking processes, which are listed below:

  • It is advisable that the candidate makes a list of choices, preference wise, taking help of the seat matrix on a piece of paper before starting to fill up the form.
  • The login session may expire in 10 Minutes if there is no activity. So, `Save Preferences` button should be clicked frequently to save the changes.
  • Candidate can close the session by clicking `Logout` button and come back afterwards with the last saved preferences till choosing to lock the preferences.
  • There is no limit for giving choices and candidates can choose any number of preferences available in the Preference form.
  • Candidates must take a printout of the submitted list of preferences after locking.
  • Candidates who do not lock their preferences before the closure of the process of Online Choice Filling as notified will have their choices locked automatically in the last saved position. It is therefore advisable for candidates to lock their choices reasonably early.
  • Candidates can change preferences as many times as they wish till final locking, after which no changes will be possible.
  • Candidate must Logout after every session for their own safety. It is the candidate’s responsibility for safekeeping of the Username, Password and Date of Birth as accessibility to these by some other person may lead to undesired changes in the preference form for which this directorate will not be responsible.

The total number of participating institutes for the Assam NEET 2024 counselling process is 16. Out of this, 13 are medical colleges and three are dental colleges.

The registration process for Assam NEET Counselling 2024 Round 1 was conducted from August 21 to August 23, 2024. The seat allotment result will be declared on August 29, 2024.
