Chhattisgarh: Ukraine return students demand NMC guidelines amendment
Chhattisgarh Ukraine Medical Parent's and student's association (CGUMPSA) has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demanded to accommodate students in Indian medical colleges.
While the Supreme Court has directed the National Medical Commission (NMC) to frame a scheme for Ukraine returned medical students, these students and their parents all across India are protesting and demanding to be accommodated in the Indian medical colleges.
Now, Chhattisgarh Ukraine Medical Parent's and student's association (CGUMPSA) has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The letter reads, "As you know that nearly 14000 students of which 207 students are from Chhattisgarh were pursuing medical courses in Ukraine. The parents had sent their children abroad to study after taking loans from banks and after the Russian and Ukraine war, these students were compelled to return to India. Now after they returned, students and parents are worried about the future of these students."
The students have said that even after two months have passed, the Central government has not taken any concrete steps to help these students.

The students have requested Prime Minister Modi to allow an amendment to the NMC's current provisions and allow all the Ukraine returned medical students to be accommodated in various medical colleges in India so that their future becomes secure and the country can also get more qualified doctors in the coming time.
