Congress MP writes to Health Minister for postponement of NEET PG 2022

The NEET PG 2022 aspirants are demanding to postpone the exam by a minimum of 8 weeks which is scheduled to be held on May 21. These aspirants are knocking on all possible doors to urge the government the deferment of the exam date. Now, Hibi Eden, Member of Parliament from INC in Ernakulam, Kerala, has also come in the support of NEET PG 2022 aspirants and has written a letter to the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and urged the Central government to postpone the examination.

Hibi Eden's letter echoes NEET PG 2022 aspirants' demand

The letter mentioned all the points that the NEET PG 2022 aspirants have been highlighting for their demands. His letter also cited the insufficient gap between NEET PG 2021 counselling and NEET PG 2022 exam date.

The letter reads, "The NEET PG 2021 All India Counselling will get over by May 3, 2022, probably. This will be followed by various states' counselling which will at least take two weeks and that will clash with the scheduled dates of the NEET PG 2022 examination. Hence, these junior doctors appearing for ongoing counselling are facing uncertainty in career and facing mental stress for being in oscillation between examination of next session and counselling."

He also pointed out that around 5000 intern doctors from various states of India are ineligible to appear for the examination as these doctors were doing their internship and it started late due to the Covid-19 pandemic and they were rendering medical service at the same period of time.
