Delhi HC has said that it is not inclined to interfere with the NEET PG cut-off percentile as NBE had already lowered it by 15 percentile and nearly 25,000 candidates benefitted from it, hence there must be hardly any vacant seats left.
A division bench of Acting Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Navin Chawla has said that it is not inclined to interfere with the NEET PG cut-off percentile decided by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for counselling and admissions to postgraduate medical courses.
The bench has said that lowering of NEET PG cut-off by 15 percentile have benefitted nearly 25,000 more candidates and in the opinion of the bench, there would be hardly any vacant seats left. The court has not passed any formal order yet and adjourned the case to April 11, to review the position of vacant seats.
"We are informed that mop up round will conclude on 6th April. Thereafter, missed out seats will be filled up. From the submissions it emerges that number of candidates is three times the number of seats and there would be hardly any vacancies left," the bench noted in its order, as reported by Live Law.

Petitioners' counsel had claimed that the percentile system excludes several meritorious students merely because they do not qualify for the 50 percentile cut-off.
