Delhi Medical Association backs demand to reduce NEET PG 2023 qualifying cut-off percentile

Delhi Medical Association has supported the UDFA's demand to reduce the NEET PG 2023 qualifying cut-off percentile.

Dr Ashwini Dalmiya, President Elect, Delhi Medical Association. Executive Member, Delhi Medical Council. Secretary, MAMCOS tweeted, "DMA supports that NEET PG qualifying cut-off percentile must be reduced up to a certain level more than previous year, so that all clinical and non- clinical seats can be filled."

"Thousands of MBBS pass-outs who appeared in NEET PG 2023, aspire to join Postgraduate courses. As per the current eligibility criteria for appearing in Counselling, due to non-reducing the eligibility cut-off marks to Participate in counselling, currently a big no.of PG Seats are vacant. If NBE will not revise the lowering in qualifying cut-off percentile to participate in ongoing counselling the vacancy will be same which will be UNJUSTICE for the potential candidates for getting admission in Postgraduate courses," said the UDFA's letter.

As per the NMC's admission schedule for Post Graduate Brand Specialty Courses, the NEET PG exam is expected to be held in March 2024.

"As per NExT Regulation or in case admission is to be based on NEET-PG, then exam will be conducted in the month of March," said the official statement of National Medical Commission.

Without prejudice to anything stated in the present Regulations or other NMC Regulations, there shall be common counselling for admission to Post-graduate courses in medicine for all medical institutions in India solely based on the merit list of respective exams. Provided the common counselling may have multiple rounds as may be necessary, added NMC.
