Drone festival witnesses drones delivering medicines at Tanda Medical College
Drones were used to carry medicines in Dharamshala during the drone festival, many companies participated.
Recently, Dharamshala witnessed a drone festival where many companies from across India participated to demonstrate their drone technology capabilities in delivering medicines and vaccines. The drones carried medicines and travelled a distance of 8 km, from SAI ground to Tanda Medical College.
This was the first drone festival in the state organised by the Department of Information Technology in alliance with Kangra district administration.
After inaugurating the Drone Mela at Sai stadium, Information Technology Minister Ram Lal Markanda said that the state government would take effective steps to promote drone technology and also open training institutes so that youngsters can get jobs in this field.
“Drones are a new dimension of the modern technology, which can be easily controlled by any person and can also be used for daily tasks,” he added, as reported by The Tribune.
To make youths aware of drone technology, the state government is planning to organise more drone fairs at other places in the state, as confirmed by the minister.
Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh said, “In many countries, drones are also being used for agricultural works such as spraying pesticides and crop care. The drone technology will prove to be very useful for the youth in the coming times and important steps will be taken towards training them in it.”
He also added that drones could go to places where it is relatively difficult or sometimes impossible for humans to go, this feature could be used in disaster management.
The companies that participated in this festival included Air Sky Mobility Drone Delivery technology, Pan India Consultant Drone Destination, Diabest Journey, Idea fromage Technology, and Rotor Precision Instrument Ltd.
