FAIMA writes to Health Minister to fill 1000 vacant NEET SS seats
FAIMA has requested a mop-up round for NEET Super Speciality 2022.
The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has sent a letter to Union Health Minister requesting a mop-up round for NEET Super Speciality 2022. The association has stated that more than 1000 DM/Mch seats under NEET SS superficiality are vacant in the country.
FAIMA has requested Health Minister Mansukh Mandviya to look into this urgent matter and take proper steps to solve it as soon as possible
In their letter, the association has stated that already there is a shortage of super-specialist doctors in India while there is a significant number of seats that remained vacant in various super-speciality courses pan India.
NEET SS opens the door for many premier institutes for the super speciality aspirant who wanted to pursue DM/MCH in India. Every year thousands of post MD/MS Resident doctors appear in this exam chasing the dream.
According to FAIMA, each super specialist doctors add to the strength of ground doctor which helps the patient & society in the best possible ways they could can which plays a very important role in providing strength to the existing health care system of this country which has also been proved during the Covid Pandemic.
It has stated that if the seats remain vacant during the counselling procedure there is not only a loss of one seat but a loss to the existing doctors on the ground, many patients and the healthcare system of the country. After the Current ongoing counselling, (Round 1 and Round 2) more than 1000 seats are vacant pan India, which will definitely reduce the super speciality doctors in the country which is directly proportional to deterioration, and lack of manpower in the existing health care system of this country.
“As the current academic year has already started for DM/MCH, late joining due to late mop up will lead to academic loss of candidates. Sir FAIMA suggests with a genuine humble request for a similar step that can be considered to conduct Mop-up round counselling in view of the current year scenario including the seats of the candidates who didn't join due to other reasons to fill the existing vacant seats,” FAIMA stated in its letter to the health minister.
